17- The Reason for the Existence of Spirit

Based on the reasons discussed above, the spirit exists. If it does not, how come the eye, that you believe to be nothing but material substances, is capable of seeing? In the case discussed before, since surgeons removed that blood vessel, they damaged the tool, and thus, the spirit was unable to perform its responsibilities with that particular tool.
Another example is: if the horn and brakes in a vehicle malfunction, even though the vehicle itself is still operational, the driver cannot use the two broken parts.
He may blow the horn, or he may press the brake pedal. However, since they are broken, they will not work. If a capable mechanic fixes them, then they will start functioning again.
The same goes for the human body. The spirit, which can be considered the driver, likes to function with an organ (a tool) in the body. However, if that tool is broken, even though the spirit wishes to work with it, it cannot, unless a skillful doctor or a knowledgeable surgeon fixes that organ.
