63- Spirit and Dreams
1. My deceased aunt's husband, the Charity Pharmacy manager in Sabzevar, oversaw feeding the homeless four days a week from the establishment's revenue.
One night, the lady responsible for the yogurt drinks was bitten by a tarantula that somehow fell inside the yogurt pot. She was very sick but eventually recovered after a few days. The next day, I was sitting in the same room with two of my friends, 13 or 14 years old at that time. One of my friends (who is now 29 years old) fell asleep. I was mischievous that day and did the following:
I told my other friend to slowly lift the foot of our sleeping friend off the ground. I took an ice cube and put it inside my friend's trousers and put his feet gently back on the ground. As soon as my friend felt the ice on his thighs, he woke up, jumped up, and shouted, "ouch! ouch!"
He took his pants off, threw them to the side, and continuously shaking his legs. When he came to his senses from the sound of our laughter, he discovered the ice we put in his trousers. He started muttering and told us that he dreamed a giant, black tarantula got inside his pants and bit his thighs.
2. I have a friend who also works at the Islamic Advertising Association. One time, he told me a story about his cousin. He said that when his cousin was sleeping in the hall of our house, I took an ice cube and put it in his hands. After a moment, he jumped out of sleeping, shouting: "I am sorry, Mr. Principal!"
Once he came to his senses and was awake, he talked about this dream: I was dreaming that Pahlavi elementary school's Principal asked me for my homework. Since I did not do my homework, I was asking for forgiveness. However, he insisted on punishing me. Unwillingly I raised my palms to him, and he struck me very hard with a whip. I woke up from the pain of that whipping.
3. A while ago, I was dreaming I was facing a tiger in a desert. The tiger was roaring and rushing towards me. When it got close to me, with a great roar it launched itself and jumped over me. Right there and then, I screamed as loud as I could, and I woke up. To my surprise, I saw two cats fighting each other and rolling on top of me while I was asleep. I thought that the dreadful dream I had woke me up, and it was these two cats. I am confident that such occurrences have happened to you as well.
Now my questions are these:
1. Was the spirit aware of the incident that was about to happen beforehand or not? If we say that it was not and became aware of the situation during its occurrence, how come it took so little time after putting the ice on the hand to wake up while he saw a long dream about being punished by his principal?
2. If the spirit informs the sleeping person beforehand through his dreams, why does it not explain what is happening? For instance, instead of informing me that two cats are fighting on the top of my body, why does it make me see the dream of facing a roaring tiger to make me scared?
I have other questions to ask. However, since they need further preliminary explanations, I withdraw them for the time being. Now, I am asking the esteemed readers of this magazine to guide me. If they know the answer to my questions, kindly inform me either through mail or through this magazine.
