Solution to The Dream Complications (The Answer to the Questions by Mr. Abbasali mahmoudi)
I ask dear readers to pay attention to these words to understand the verities of the notion:

64. The human body is in three parts: spirit, body, and perispirit. Explaining these three parts in detail will be extensive and out of the scope of our discussion1 . During sleep, the body is in rest, and the spirit also temporarily leaves the body to rest and, for other reasons, by God's will and plan. The perispirit is the mediating tool between the body and the spirit, which protects the body and never leaves it. If the perispirit leaves the body, the person dies. In other words, death occurs when both the spirit and the perispirit leave the body. However, during sleep, only the spirit leaves the body (this is the difference between sleep and death). In this regard, if the spirit gets very far (from the body)2 , the sleep becomes deep. If it does not go very far, the sleep will be relatively less deep. If the spirit is close to the body, then the sleep will be light. For example, in some forms of sleep, the person can hear the noises in his environment, and some of his senses will remain partially functional. Therefore, sleep has different stages, and we noted the most significant ones.
65. The perispirit is continually looking after the body. If there is even the slightest threat to the person in sleep, the perispirit informs the individual. By God's will, there is a constant and permanent connection between the perispirit and the spirit during sleep. Consequently, in the event of danger in the surroundings, the perispirit informs the individual swiftly, like a telegraph. In other words, it informs the person that the body is in imminent danger.
For instance, if people in proximity of a sleeping person decide to harm him, the perispirit will instantly inform the individual as soon as the idea of harming comes to their minds. Whatever the awake individuals are contemplating in their minds, their perispirit will know at lightning speed. In turn, the perispirit informs the spirit (through a constant transmission) while those individuals (who are trying to harm the person) conclude their thoughts and discuss its details.
Therefore, from the moment the idea of hurting the person materializes, the perispirit through the power of transmitting thoughts3 will realize their plan. Then, through a sequence of different dreams (that may take a while), it informs the body until the moment of action takes place. At this moment (e.g., when the ice is placed over the palms), the spirit returns instantaneously and wakes the person up. As a result, the body, the spirit, and the perispirit resume their activities.
So, the dream takes a long time because the perispirit and spirit were aware of the situation from the moment the individuals contemplated hurting the person to the time it is carried out.
It is not as if those dreams were all seen only when they put the ice in the person's palm. It took a long time, and the person had continuously seen the situation in his dream.
66. We should note here that if any harm comes to the person sleeping (due to sudden awakening or harmful pranks as mentioned) it will cause the delay of the spirit's return, and any moment of delay and disruption will be fatal.
Such pranks may cause dangerous situations for humankind. Therefore, it is emphasized in Islamic principles to refrain from suddenly waking up a person and avoid any harmful pranks.
Such behaviors are perilous. It is imperative to advise everyone against these harmful recreational pastimes, to avoid any regrets in this world and the other world due to the harms they may cause. It is worth mentioning one of the causes of most heart attacks during sleep is one of these factors.
67. If the spirit is close to the body, and if the person is completely healthy and his mental containers are intact and in proper shape and clean, and possesses all good traits, the incident in his dream will be identical to the outside world. However, this is extremely rare. Usually, that person's container is damaged, and a specific part of his brain and memory is not healthy and is not functioning correctly. Therefore, other similar memories (memories with most resemblance) come to his dream to gradually inform him of the incident before the threat becomes real (the ice cube's coldness is sensed). Mr. Mahmoudi has explained the dreams had changed realities into a tarantula or a whip. The reason for that is that such spectacles were already carved in their conscience and memories. Therefore, they are the most comfortable means of understanding for his comprehension. People usually see incidents they are familiar with, have seen before sleeping, or over the days leading to their dream if they have similarities with the situation. Through this manner, the spirit informs the person of the existence of danger beforehand. If those who were thinking of hurting the person change their minds, then the individual in sleep continues having a bad dream until the threat is over. In this case, the person will not wake up, but those dreams gradually fade, and all he will remember is that he had a nightmare.
Footnotes
- If you wish, you may refer to the eleventh notion in “Dynamism of Creation.” There, we have discussed the three constituting parts of human comprehensively.
- The terms “far” and “close” that we use for the spirit are contractual and conventional terminology because dimensions and close and far do not apply to the spirit.
- Perispirits communicate through the transmission of thoughts. When a thought emerges in a perispirit, it is instantaneously transmitted to the other without speaking. The only exception is when the perispirits accompanying the spirit wish to speak to us through a medium or a mediator. This notion is the principle of Telepathy (or transmission of thoughts) that some living people are capable of doing.
