Answers to the Questions from Mr. Ebrahim Keshavarz
My dear brother – Thank you for reading the book “Dynamism of Creation.” You have asked several questions on some of the notions. I will answer your questions numerically.
1. You believe that the human cannot contemplate the power and the existence of God almighty, and it is not allowed for human beings to enter such discussions. On what grounds and under what order did they refrain humankind from getting to know God? Do you not think that theism is the noblest and grandest science for humankind? Do you not think that refraining humans from entering this vast realm, which is the most significant discussion of the universe, is like imprisoning the minds and creating walls around the force of contemplation in humankind?
Humankind's thoughts have no limits. Due to this limitlessness, evolution can emerge. Humans have achieved this glorifying era of science and philosophy from the old ages of barbarization and worshipping idols and wood and stone.
Do you not think that limiting humankind's minds is against the Holy Verse "And We have certainly honored the children of Adam" (Al-Isra, Verse 70)?
Besides, if another human being found out verities and was confident they were truthful, should he not say: "I will reveal the truths O dignified one"? Yes, he declares this to a gracious and dignified audience, those who ponder and contemplate topics with grace and humbleness that "I am announcing divine verities with absolute certainty (not with doubt)." He invites people to contemplate the unveiled truths of the universe, so they can gaze upon God's grace, not to reject without any reasons and deliberations.
I am delighted that numerous intellectuals worldwide have found the truths in these words and accepted them. In the book “The world welcomes The Message of The New Universal Unity” and other publications from our organization, there are many testimonials and no reason to repeat them. Thousands of admirations and letters have been confirming these words, and no book currently has the capacity for their narration.
“Do not call it blasphemy, See God’s glory in every verse” – I invited all to see the endowment of verities, not accuse of heresy. I claim that we have discovered some notions and shed light on some verities. Throughout time, many inventors and explorers have shed light upon specific topics, invented, or made discoveries, all within the boundaries of advancement in science. In other words, they all have announced divine secrets and disclosed verities (things that have been secrets and veiled and concealed from the general population up until that time. That scientist discovered the power in the steam and freed human beings from the burden of having only one means of transportation: animals, or the scientist who discovered microbes and freed human beings from the calamities of diseases, they all discovered divine secrets. Similarly, these words here are the notions from the divine secrets.
Do you honestly believe that the doors to humankind's mind should remain closed, paths for thoughts should be barricaded, and science advancements should be obstructed? Do you believe that human beings should have been content with riding donkeys, and evolution and progression should be shut down altogether?
When we said to see God's glory, our intention is for people to witness the same blessings that enlighten the secrets to the universe. It is what our predecessors have done, and, therefore, one should not condemn these notions and instead should contemplate diligently. If this is your opinion that all insights, oracles, and all sparkles of science and knowledge in the world should be shut down, and mind and wisdom (that is a gift and a blessing from God) is to be neglected by people, then we have no more to discuss with you.
2. You noted about wondering how the omnipotent and just God has also created misguided and foul individuals. On that note, I reply, how come God turns the bright daylight into a pitch-black night, while people usually consider night as a symbol of darkness and abomination and day as a symbol of light, brightness, and cleanliness. How come He created the cold and gloomy weather of winter or the hot and dry summer days compared to spring's clean and refreshing weather? Will the world function correctly if all four seasons are not present? Is it not true that God created all four seasons by the force of destiny? Do you think that God has created spring, and summer and winter are creations of humankind? Is the truth anything but the fact that God has created the ferocious wolves and lions and tigers and leopards and other rapacious animals alongside the meek sheep? Did He not create owls and vultures and eagles alongside the beautiful peacocks? Do you think that the creatures we perceive as "good" are created by God, while humankind or other beings have created the others? This concept is not valid, my dear friend. All these correlate with each other. Humankind, with their relative goodness and badness, which is a human-made construct, are similar.
Is it not true that alongside meek animals like sheep and partridge, chicken, see-see partridge, all birds, and grazing animals and herbivores, God has created humankind that consumes them all? Human beings eradicate animals, slaughter them with extreme cruelty, cut them in pieces, grill them, and even crush their bones and feel no remorse about it. Whose creation are these humans with such behavior, traits, deeds, and habits?
These creatures are all created according to fate and destiny, and human beings consume them by destiny. A sheep is never willing to be killed and consumed in this manner. However, a human does this without considering the depth of this matter. Humankind involuntarily does this as they should, for this world is based on the general principle of "eat and be eaten." The result of "eat and be eaten" is unity since all elements transform into one another in this cycle. During the infinite years of existence of the universe, elements turn into different shapes infinite times.
If a human harms another person, they will punish that individual severely. However, if humankind killed and ate millions and billions of defenseless, meek, gentle and beautiful beings with torture and cruelty, they would not be punished. There will be no punishment when people slaughter, eradicate, kill, and cause death (spiritual promotion) of thousands and millions of their fellow-creatures during the crusades and world wars and wars in Vietnam and Palestine and such. Are these not fate and destiny?
My dear brother, we did not want to engage in these discussions. They were merely for the sake of your understanding. What should we do? The truth is even greater than what is said here but let us leave it at that for now.
There are countless anecdotes (Hadis) and amounts of information regarding fate and destiny, and the concept is very evident and apparent. If there were another opportunity, I would provide more explanation elsewhere for further completion of the concept. Of course, humankind can purify their behavior with proper training and exercises and become better, according to their mental capacity, as we have briefly discussed in the nineteenth notion of the book “Dynamism of Creation.”
Regarding what you said about the divine vengeance upon humankind, you are implying that humankind is so powerful and so ruffian that they can act against the will of God. Moreover, since the omnipotent God is incapable of controlling their actions, He sends divine vengeance to eradicate them. As humankind, if you wish to fix a broken device, you will work on it for a while. If you get tired after many attempts, you may lose your temper and smash and destroy the device due to anger and rage, even though it was not the device's fault. However, this action on your part is not logical and reveals your incapability in fixing the device. The omnipotent and the almighty God fixes "these broken devices" by sending guides and, through their guidance, remove and fix corrosions and defections but not destroy the device. Of course, if something is not repairable, it will fall into the category of unusable materials that is to be promoted later into other forms.
The divine vengeance mentioned in religious books is not a symbol of God's incapability in fixing humankind.
Please pay attention to what I am about to say: Let us say you want to build a house somewhere. All the building materials and tools are on the property where you want to build your dream house. However, under the ground where you are about to dig for your construction's foundation lies lairs of ants' nests that will be destroyed due to your actions. Hence, if you wish to consider their habitat and avoid destroying their burrow, you should avoid digging there altogether. Assuming you felt compassionate and decided to choose another piece of land for your building and realized that the ground there is also full of cockroaches and other insect nests. You feel pity and choose another place, only to see that the next place is also infested with mice. Therefore, anywhere you dig is going to have the same issues.
However, you do not give up building your house. You have a bigger goal and want to advance and improve a bare piece of land with your beautiful building. When have you constructed a ten-story building, which is better: your building or that ants and cockroaches’ nest? It is evident that you have chosen advancement and progression by your actions, and thus, your action has been part of evolution.
On the other hand, if we investigate the situation from mice or ants' point of view whose nests were eradicated and demolished by your shovels and bobcats and were killed and massacred, they are screaming and are outraged by humankind's oppression. Is it not true that they are creatures of God and thus, enjoy the blessing of life, have movements and feelings as much as we do? They complain because they are incapable of understanding the higher purposes invoking the actions that, inevitably, destroyed their habitat.
The actions of the omnipotent and almighty God are like this. What people call catastrophes are nothing but God's greater purposes and higher levels of evolution, which humankind, like those ants and insects, are incapable of comprehending.
Therefore, now you understand that incidents that in appearance harm humankind (like earthquakes, tornados, and such) and may seem like divine vengeance are, in fact, grace and kindness and create progression and evolution in the true realm of God. Like building that house is considered a development, evolution, and a better replacement, even though the ants and the insects cannot comprehend the idea behind it all.
By analyzing humankind's history, we find many progressions and ascensions in civilizations that followed the tornados, hurricanes, tsunamis, and similar incidents called catastrophes and calamities and were considered oppression of nature over humankind. Many earthquake-proof buildings and advanced constructions replaced weak and fragile structures. Many more significant civilizations came into existence simply because such occurrences created the necessity to build constructions resistant to floods and earthquakes.
Through these calamities, inventions and discoveries come to existence because they create needs for humankind to advance. For instance, one invention is the seismometer, which has been perfected day by day and will develop even more in the future. Through using this device, people are notified of earthquakes in the most remote areas of the world. Had there been no earthquakes, there would be no seismometer either.
In the earthquakes and floods that have occurred in our country, you have witnessed that after these incidents were over, feeble and clay houses with no resistance were replaced by solid brick houses and more revolutionized constructions. In Japan, where earthquakes are regular occurrences, the construction techniques for earthquake-resistant houses are so advanced that other countries utilize their techniques. Are these not progression and evolution?
Of course, in any incident, some people's lives are sacrificed, just as in sickness or fever, you lose a countless number of beneficial and powerful cells, which are your servants, and apparently without anyone's fault. However, due to their destruction, your health is established, which is a bigger goal than a few cells' survival.
So, instead of mourning and crying, we should be grateful to God that whatever His volition and will yield are for grace, progression, evolution, and fulfillment of great and worthy goals. All these affairs will undoubtedly be for the good of future generations. We have torn the veils over minds and eyes and provided the verities and delivered the blessings of God to you. Are you not happy with this blessing, and are you not praising God for this?
As for the deeds that you call aberrations and claim that they are against the divine volition, what do you say against hundreds of Quranic Verses that claim otherwise? Is it not true that God denoted in many Quranic Verses that "Indeed, God sends astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills" (Ar-Ra'd, Verse 27; Ibrahim, Verse 4; An-Nahl, Verse 93; Fatir, Verse 8; Al-Muddaththir, Verse 31).
In the Holy Surah Ya-Sin, Verses 8, 9, and 10, it is denoted: "Indeed, we have put shackles on their necks, and they are to their chins, so they are with heads [kept] aloft. Furthermore, we obstructed them from all directions to the path to felicity and goodness, so they do not see. Furthermore, it is all the same for them whether you warn them or do not warn them - they will not believe."
What do you say about these Quranic Verses and hundreds of others in the Quran and other religious books that confirm that the path towards aberration and felicity is by God's will?
If you could not solve this notion or have not seen sufficient answers for this issue, we have provided definite answers in the book "Dynamism of Creation." There, you realize that all matters are according to the will and volition of God. You will find that human beings, much like actors on a theater scene, are responsible for a specific task and apparent differences are only to keep the wheel of the universe turning. Since discussing this issue is very lengthy, you will see conclusive answers in other New Universal Unity publications.
3. Fate and destiny are not against wisdom. An employee with a sound mind working at a factory accepts all the factory's rules and regulations, which the owner, founder, and creator of the factory has set. He accepts these regulations as being fair and just. If he rejects these rules, despite being aware of the regulations, they will terminate him, and he will become impoverished and destitute.
In this case, it is not his wisdom that guided his opposition, his ignorance misguided him, and such ignorance is rare. Almost all who work in establishments believe in the regulations. Even though the blessing of wisdom has not been taken away from them, they obey the rules. Otherwise, they will be called agitators and anarchists, and you know that these groups are in the minority. If you think the definition of "wisdom" is equivalent to rebellion, disobedience, and individualism, then we have nothing more to say to you. However, if it means having the apprehension and perception of verities, in that case, you should know that even though destiny and fate are to be accepted, having wisdom is necessary and essential as well.
To become misguided and to endure its retributions is also part of fate and destiny, just like when a person is aware of the harms of opium but continues using it and suffers its consequences. This notion is valid for all wrongdoings. If you say the person who drinks or the person who uses opium is helpless and addicted to this plague and must suffer its consequences, I would also say that this is true for all affairs. We will face the consequences of our actions one way or the other.
When the omnipotent and almighty God created humankind with these specific elements and substances, He determined that such creatures cannot grow and continue living on any other planets in the universe but the earth. However, on this planet earth, humankind can live and grow with its distinct atmospheric characterizations and soil mixture. Therefore, he placed human beings on earth. Consequently, humans accepted it, and the earth nourishes them.
For example, if we place a worm or its egg over a quince fruit, it will die because it is not a proper habitat for the worm. Even a peach will not accept the cultivation of that. However, it will live very well in an apple. Therefore, an apple accepts its cultivation, and the worm accepts this habitat and cultivates there.
Of course, we should not forget this notion that humankind is (obscured and ignorant) on this planet. In other words, relative to the bright verities of spirit and lighter and more delicate, and more luminous worlds that he will experience in the future, this universe is obscured and dark, and he is in the darkness; just as a child in the womb is in darkness relative to the world outside. He is also ignorant, for he does not know and comprehend the truths, and his mental mechanism is yet to evolve for the following stages, and thus, he cannot contemplate and apprehend the great notions beyond.
