5. What Does The “Eternal” Mean?

The Flowers Of Guidance Volume One Six bouquets of guidance from the garden of flowers Bouquet 5: Being in Constant Constraint of Beginning and End

Islam repeatedly declares the sustainability of existence and declares its perpetuity throughout the verses of the Quran. There are explicit mentions of eternal Resurrection, eternal heaven, and eternal hell in various verses. According to the terminology, the word “Khald (immortal),” meaning heaven, is equivalent to the word “Kholud”, meaning eternal and never-ending. “So, the outcome for both of them is that they will be in the Fire, abiding eternally therein.” (Al-Hashr, Verse 17). “He will put him into the Fire to abide eternally therein.” (An-Nisa, Verse 14). “… will be admitted by Him to gardens [in Paradise] under which rivers flow, abiding eternally therein.” (An-Nisa, Verse 13).

These arguments confirm that there is no end for existence.  Therefore, a conclusion cannot be imagined for it.
