A Serene Spirit
A clear conscience can result in a serene spirit. Because the human spirit is pure by nature, it will be affected and disturbed by turbulences emerging from deviations and hideous deeds. Criminals do not have tranquility and peace. Their spirits are in turmoil because of the tainting desires of the flesh. A person who is healthy, balanced, and virtuous, one who adapts his mind and thoughts with destiny and does not expose his conscience to reproach and regret, will find the serenity of spirit. Such an individual will have the capacity to assist others. When we talk about assistance, we do not focus merely on financial assistance. Assistance, be it physical pragmatic support, sympathy, helping solve problems, consolation, or easing burdens of grief, can all be counted as assistance. Who is capable of assistance? One who has a clear conscience. A person with a guilty or heavy conscience is so entangled and drowned in his calamity that he is unable to help others.
