Gossip and Bad-mouthing
Respectful people do not talk behind someones’ back. This is the first principle of humanity. Talking behind someone’s back is so obnoxious that all religions and nations condemn it. In Islam, gossiping is compared to “eating the flesh of his brother when dead ” (Al-Hujurat, Verse 12). If you think clearly, you realize that the repugnance of gossip is not any less than what is noted in the Holy Quran. This trait has become so common in society that it is no longer a taboo. However, it is offensive and judged before the eyes of God. Those who commit such deeds will suffer the consequences of their actions, and in the next world, their perispirit will display all the bad-mouthing and gossiping. This notion is their punishment.
