Spreading Rumors

One of the plagues of the tongue is spreading rumors. An adage points out that a rumor is like a fake coin; some unaware people may spend it without realizing that it is fake. However, I should point out that only a negligent person gets deceived and spends fake coins. Sometimes a godly and wise person might get deceived at first, receive that fake coin and fail to realize it due to his initial hastiness or lack of attention. He should not spend this coin or give it to others once he realizes that it is fake so that it will not go from one hand to another, even though it would be at his loss. The loss he suffers is the consequence of his negligence.
