The Embellishments of Man and Woman
Dear child, what does one think are the embellishments of a man and a woman? One may say that clean and elegant clothing, proper makeup, pleasant composed faces, and jewelry are the embellishments of humankind. Of course, we do not disregard beauty and cleanliness. It is incumbent upon all of us to decorate ourselves pleasantly and orderly. It is also essential that every individual respect the principles of cleanliness and hygiene of their beautiful body. One should keep this beautiful body that has been created by God more decorated, pleasant, and clean so that others may find it pleasing. This notion is the least of humankind’s responsibilities. Regardless of whether they are rich or poor, they should wear clean and pleasant clothes. However, the real embellishment of humankind is not merely their clothes. How often we see people wearing the most expensive and latest fashions clothes, jewelry, and accessories; however, they alienate and sicken others in a short time, only because they lack the embellishments of politeness, humility and good morality. It will be a short time before their most precious embellishments can no longer bring character and popularity for them.
On the contrary, one who has the embellishments of modesty and decorum is admired and venerable, despite wearing worn out and insignificant clothing and having low social status. All will soon know and cherish such an individual. So, the right path in the manner of life is modesty and decorum, and because humankind will always need a blueprint and a role model, they are bound to follow good people and imitate their deeds. Following such individuals provides felicity for humans, and we should not neglect to adhere to them.
