Spiritual Freedom
The first condition to maintain our freedom, specifically spiritual freedom, is banishing all the shackles of life. One way to eliminate these shackles is by not flattering or stroking egos.
The spiritual freedom of the human is in our own hands, at least to the extent that each one’s destiny mandates. Humankind shackles his spirit by being tied down and constrained by others. Superstitious and irrational devotion that is out of the bounds of logic and knowledge as well as having prejudice in following opinions of others with no mental and wise evaluation are among the restrictions that humans impose on their spirit. Such a person enslaves himself, a memento from the dark ages. The act of flattering and stroking one’s ego is materialistic and leads others to keep enslaving and controlling their minds. It is the human himself who allows others to control and enslave him with his thoughtless acts, and it emerges from flattering others. Another form is Spiritual flattery that has a similar effect, as well. Unconditional and illogical surrender to the opinions of others makes them audacious to controlling others. This notion is the nature of humankind. So, it is our responsibility not to make others predominant over us like this. If we can avoid such occurrences, our joy and merriment will flourish to a large extent. On the contrary, if we fail, and if we put ourselves under the commands and control of others, we will be a prisoner cursed with sorrow and unaware of any spiritual merriment.
