These sequences of steps from general to specialty do not all occur in the medical field. They commence from the beginning of education for an individual, and as it traverses from general principles to specialty, it gets smaller and more limited. For instance, a physician started his studies with elementary studies that include very general information taught to all people in society. Then he enters high school, where people choose various branches such as biology, math, and literature (or other divisions customary in other countries). This step of education, albeit branched, is still general education.
