Some Facts Regarding Growth

The Flowers Of Guidance Volume One How the Spirit Can Be Understood
Countless factors from earth and atmosphere and the force of sunlight need to be effective so that a human or an animal can continue living. Here you see a beautiful lion cub that owes its jubilance to universal factors.

Now I am going to speak with simplicity on the growth of human beings, plants, and animals, all of which need external factors other than air. In addition to air, many (maybe billions) of atom-like factors interact in life so that a human, an animal, or a tree can continue living. Consider a plant seed or a baby, both use abundant air. Prevent sunlight and the force of warmth and calories and atmospheric radiations from reaching them, and the seed cannot grow to become a tree, nor can the child grow and continue to live.

Even though that child has blood and a body, and even though you provided enough air for him, his life will fail to prosper without the interaction of all factors. So now it is clear that other than those factors that you have already seen and distinguished, the atmosphere contains other factors and agents that enable growth and life in human beings, on earth, in animals and plants. Therefore, matter by itself cannot create life. In other words, the physical body and matter that you are thinking of and have studied is not a factor for life.
