Merriment and Depression
The proverb “misery loves company” denotes the fact that sorrow and somberness are contagious. A sad person will sadden others. So, one should realize the gravity and importance of this responsibility. Having a somber and sullen presence, pouring out one’s depressed heart, talking only of personal sorrow, and showing oneself to be depressed all carry some level of responsibility because of their power to create sorrow in others. Merriment is contagious. When a person is happy, affable, and laughing, it makes those around him happy, and this will be considered a noble deed for him.
