Resolving the Problems of Theism And Creation

The Flowers Of Guidance Volume One

Introduction

Moreover, thus, we showed Abraham the realm of the heavens and the earth that he would be among the certain [in faith]. So, when the night covered him [with darkness], he saw a star. He said, “This is my lord.” However, when it set, he said, “I like not those that disappear.” Moreover, when he saw the moon rising, he said, “This is my lord.” However, when it set, he said, “Unless my Lord guides me, I will surely be among the people gone astray.” Moreover, when he saw the sun rising, he said, “This is my lord;” Nevertheless, when it set, he said, “O my people, indeed I am free from what you associate with Allah. Indeed, I have turned my face toward He who created the heavens and the earth, inclining toward truth, and I am not of those who associate others with Allah.” (Al-An’am, Verses 75 to 79).

This notion is a lesson from the process of theism. It is from its most uncomplicated and extensive form to its written and scientific advancement.

Theism should be used to advance knowledge and to advance the minds and thoughts, or else it is unacceptable.

The logic that Prophet Abraham provided was meant for the people of his time. He gradually made the people of his time understand that the stars, sun and moon cannot be the creator and God of all beings. However, is it genuinely acceptable for people in our time to question if this star, this planet, or this sun is my God or not? Primarily when human beings now have understood many secrets of the universe with their knowledge, have recognized stars, traveled to the moon and back, and received first-hand information regarding solar systems?

Now people require other reasons that are in accord with their knowledge. They need documents that science can validate. The reason people are now reluctant to join religions and the reason they do not regard theism is that they cannot accept simple reasons. Instead, they ask for more vibrant proof.

So, it is upon all godly and religious men and those who believe in the truths of religions to endeavor in this path to provide more and better reasons, and to introduce God to people the way he is, using the science of today. It is only then that the verities will become apparent to everyone, and scientists and bright-minded individuals (even those who consider themselves atheists) will find out the truths. Then other human beings will follow them to accept the truths of spirituality and theism.

Providing the truth about this notion is progress on this sacred path.
