Spiritual Loss
As we explained earlier, this is how an unemployed and idle person suffers many physical losses from his inactivity and dormancy. Of course, idle individuals also suffer many grave damages in terms of mental and moral aspects. Most pessimisms and discontentment arise from inactivity and indolence. When an unemployed individual sees other individuals successful and prosperous, instead of blaming himself and seeking the reasons for deprivation in himself, he blames others. “They deprive me of the opportunity to succeed, barricade my path, push me back, create obstacles in my way; they do not cherish me or failed to recognize my talents, they do not believe in my capabilities,” and so on. Through these thoughts and illusions, a great pessimism emerges in his mind that strips him of his spiritual and corporeal serenity. Because as much as optimism and balance in thoughts and serenity create felicity, pessimism creates dreariness and sorrow.
It is for this very reason that people find idle and unemployed individuals to be constantly doleful, upset, and unhappy.
