170- Look at the Dead Body
We said that the eyes saw. When an individual is dead, his physical eyeball is there, but where is its sight? So, the sight was its essence. When the person died, they have not removed his eyeballs, and they are wide open as if they are looking at something. However, the essence of seeing is cut-off from them.
The hand is the same as it was; the very same hand was moving an hour ago. Then why is it motionless now? The tongue has the same anatomy and physiology it had an hour ago, so why can't it talk?
My dear, the reason is that the essence is cut-off from them. Now, do you realize what is the physical object and what its essence is?
Evaluate every creature in this universe with the principle I just gave you to find its apparent face and essence. All beings in the universe are subject to this principle because it is ingrained throughout the universe, be them human beings, animals, or solid objects as you put it, or any other thing that can be named a creature.
You said: "What is evident is that the first thing human beings perceive is existence. In other words, humankind will reach a resolute understanding after searching the world and its surroundings. At this state, what he experiences is existence. If humankind fails to experience this "existence," he will have a negative perspective and believe in nothingness."1
