Peace of Mind
When a human carries out a good deed, its most immediate effect is the emergence of two great satisfactions: the satisfaction of God and the satisfaction of the conscience. Just like a child who has studied well and made his father proud and himself happy. After doing a good deed, God is content and happy for his servant, and the conscience of the person is merry as well. The outcome of such good deeds is the peace of mind and the satisfaction of the conscience. No higher remuneration can be conceived because all people in life endeavor to acquire peace and serenity of mind, and all their actions revolve around the very idea. Now, what higher felicity is there than acquiring peace of mind and contentment of the spirit and satisfaction of the conscience through good deeds and serving others? This manner of internal satisfaction is far more critical and far more significant than the satisfaction acquired through meeting personal wishes and dreams because only one single being becomes satisfied and happy from the latter.
In contrast, the satisfaction acquired from the former exceeds the person himself and reaches others. Because unity exists, when a human carries out a good deed for another, it will be as if he did something for himself simply because all are connected and entwined. There are no disconnects in the universe of unity. All good deeds and all kindnesses are joined and intertwined to create a public environment of goodness. Besides, because God Almighty is also happy and satisfied in the actions of his servants, and the divine dominance and influence and connection runs throughout the universe, the whole universe will become happy and excited from this divine contentment.
